| Health Ministry reports 52 new SARS cases |

There were 52 new severe acute respiratory syndrome （SARS） cases and 4 new deaths between 10:00 a.m. May 14 and 10:00 a.m. May 15 on the Chinese mainland, the Ministry of Health reported in Beijing on Thursday.
The cumulative SARS cases rose to 5,163； the death toll and the number of SARS patients discharged from hospitals, 271 and 1,858, respectively, the ministry said.
Beijing reported 27 new SARS cases and one death from 10:00 a.m. May 14 to 10:00 a.m. May 15, according to the Ministry of Health.
