Statistics from the World Health Organization show that the number of new SARS cases around the world has decreased. The WHO says 4,439 people globally had been confirmed SARS cases by Thursday. And here are the latest statistics from China.
Besides China, the WHO has found SARS cases in a total of 28 countries and regions, with a death rate of 5.92 percent. Almost half of the SARS patients have recovered and been discharged by hospitals.
