| Chinese ministries step up precautions against SARS |

China is stepping up its level of SARS precautions to fight the highly infectious disease. Relevant ministries have responded accordingly and called for more comprehensive measures to control and prevent its spread.
The Ministry of Commerce released a circular on Friday, urging all departments concerned at various levels to stabilize the prices changes of medicine. It also called on them to guarantee the supply of medical equipment, and create a hygienic environment to help curb the disease.
The Ministry of Agriculture called for more public awareness in rural areas by means of radio broadcasts, newspapers and pamphlets.
Meanwhile, the Education Ministry has decided to postpone the interview test for annual postgraduate admission exams to late May.
