The opening ceremony of this year's NPC session has drawn the attention of both Chinese and overseas media. The event was covered live by a number of television channels around the world.
China Central Television carried a live coverage of the opening ceremony, both domestically and globally via its two international channels.
Hong Kong－based Phoenix TV also broadcast the event live at the Great Hall of the People this morning. These live broadcasts gave audiences worldwide direct access to the annual session of China's top legislature.
American news channel CNN covered part of the session live, while the BBC of Britain reported that the session will witness a transfer of power to a new generation of leaders to meet challenges in guiding China on the path to further development.
