| Indian PM visits Shanghai |

 Chen Liangyu, secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, met in Shanghai Thursday with Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Chen briefed Vajpayee on Shanghai's industrial restructuring and urban development. He said Shanghai and India had seized the opportunity to develop their economy in recent years and had also promoted cooperation in various fields.
The Indian prime minister congratulated Shanghai on its tremendous changes and expressed the hope that his visit would further boost cooperation, especially in information technology.
Vajpayee also attended a seminar on IT development on Thursday.
