| Chinese Mainland Reports 55 New SARS Cases |

There were 55 new severe acute respiratory syndrome （SARS） cases and 5 new deaths between 10:00 a.m. May 13 and 10:00 a.m. May 14 on the Chinese mainland, the Ministry of Health reported Wednesday.
The cumulative SARS cases rose to 5,124； the death toll and the number of SARS patients discharged from hospitals, 267 and 1,811, respectively, the ministry said.
Beijing reports 39 new SARS cases
Beijing reported 39 new SARS cases and 5 deaths from 10:00 a.m. May 13 to 10:00 a.m. May 14, according to the Ministry of Health Wednesday.
