| 75 new SARS cases reported in China mainland |

There were 75 new severe acute respiratory syndrome （SARS） cases and 12 new deaths between 10:00 a.m. May 11 and 10:00 a.m. May 12 on the Chinese mainland, the Ministry of Health reported in Beijing Monday.
Beijing reported 48 new SARS cases and 9 deaths.
The cumulative SARS cases rose to 5,013； the death toll and the number of SARS patients discharged from hospitals 252 and 1,693 respectively, according to the ministry.
