| Health Ministry reports 118 new SARS cases |

There were 118 new severe acute respiratory syndrome （SARS） cases and 6 new deaths between 10:00 a.m. May 8 and 10:00 a.m. May 9 on the Chinese mainland, the Ministry of Health reported in Beijing Friday.
The accumulative SARS cases rose to 4,805； the death toll 230 and the number of SARS patients discharged from hospitals, 1,582, the ministry said.
Beijing reported 48 new SARS cases and 2 deaths from 10:00 a.m. May 8 to 10:00 a.m. May 9, the Ministry of Health said.
