Tourists always like to buy mementos during their journeys to remember the good times and the places they have visited. And with this in mind, Beijing is hosting a souvenir design competition to explore local creativity and present the best possible images of Beijing as a tourist destination.
The competition focuses on creative depictions of Beijing's city image and the promotion of tourist souvenirs. One hundred and nine businesses and designers are participating and more than 700 products have been accepted by the judges. Most of the products have distinctively Beijing features and are interesting and beautiful enough to be tourists' collectors items. They range from handmade folk art that reflects the regional culture to futuristic high－tech works.
