Chinese embassy marks anniversary

The Chinese Embassy in Japan has held a gathering, also to commemorate the anniversary.

The Chinese ambassador, Wang Yi, attended the meeting with more than two hundred Japanese, overseas Chinese and foreign diplomats. Wang called on people to keep history in mind and never forget the past. He said people should cherish peace and open up the future. The head of the Japan-China Peace and Friendship Association said Japan should draw lessons from the past and uphold peace.
