Over three hundred veterans of the Second World War gathering in Beijing signed a Beijing Peace Declaration on Friday.
The WWII veterans also participated in a ceremony in a Beijing Chaoyang park, where a Peace Wall was unveiled. Engraved into this 60-meter-tall wall is the text of their Declaration in Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish, as well as the names of all the signatories.
The Beijing gathering has been a historic meeting, at which participants in, and survivors of, World War II have expressed their desire to cherish life and peace.
On Thursday, a reception was held in Beijing to welcome the international veterans who joined China in the War of Resistance against Japan from 1937 to 1945.
