Cabinet to resign after election

The chief of the legal committee of the Palestinian Legislative Council says that the current Palestinian cabinet must resign, after the results of Sunday's presidential election are announced. Abdel Kareem Abu Sallah said that by law, the newly elected president should appoint a prime minister and ask him to form a new cabinet within three weeks. The front-runner candidate, Mahmoud Abbas, said if he is elected, he will choose Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei to continue his job.
