WHO: 6 people confirmed dead from bird flu in Vietnam

The latest outbreak of bird flu has spread to a number of countries and regions around Asia, including South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Taiwan region. It has also been confirmed that six people have died of the disease in Vietnam.

Officials from the World Health Organization said on Sunday if the disease develops to the stage where it can spread from human to human, it might lead to a serious public health crisis. The WHO cautioned that it would be impossible to develop anti-biotics to fight the disease in less than six months.
