Thailand´s first suspected bird flu case to be verified

Thailand's Health Commission has said that the case of a chicken butcher who is suspected of contracting bird flu will be verified this week.

The condition of the patient is reported to be critical. The man has an extremely high fever and his lungs are seriously inflamed. Doctors have had to use respirator to keep him live. The results of blood test, due later this week, will determine whether or not the bird flu virus is the cause of the man's illness.
