PM denies bird flu exists in Thailand

Thailand's Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra reiterated on Saturday there was no bird flu in the country.

An epidemic that has spread through some chicken farms has been identified as being caused by diseases other than bird flu and has been brought under control.

The tests conducted by both Thailand and WHO have proven the epidemics are respiratory disease and chicken cholera, viruses that can only be transferred between birds.
