The World Health Organisation has sent a team of experts to Guangzhou. They'll try to find out how China's most recent confirmed SARS patient contracted the disease.

The mission will focus on the potential human, animal and environmental sources of the SARS infection.

Robert Breiman of WHO team leader said: "At the moment we are going to be focusing on the known case which is the patient that has been confirmed as SARS. As new cases become confirmed, we will then continue our investigations. It will likely be an evolving story depending on the cases that become confirmed and appear. At the moment, we are just working on the single confirmed case and we are waiting for additional information about others."

"We think that there is at this point no significant public health threat. What our interest is in now, is to determine what sort of steps can be taken to maintain that low public health risk"
