General

　　國　名：海地共和國

　　Official Name：　The Republic of Haiti。

　　國　旗：自上而下由藍，紅兩個長方形組成。中央為白色長方形，其中繪有國徽圖案。國旗顏色源於法國國旗。

　　National Flag：　The National flag　(proportion variable)　has two equal vertical stripes，　of dark blue and red。

　　國　徽：棕櫚樹上插著一根“自由之竿”，竿頂是“自由之帽”。樹前擺著一個戰鼓，樹兩旁有國旗、帶有刺刀的步槍、大炮、戰斧等。白色飾帶上用法文寫著“團結就是力量”。

　　National Emblem：　It has a white rectangular panel，　containing the national coat of arms　(a palm tree，　surmounted by a Cap of Liberty and flanked by flags and cannons)，　in the centre。

　　憲　法：1987年3月29日開始實施的憲法是海地獨立後的第23部憲法，但1988年遭到亨利南菲將軍的廢止，1990年又由臨時總統埃爾塔帕斯卡爾-特魯洛恢復執行，1991年9月政變後依然得到基本實施。憲法規定行政權由總統、總理和兩院制議會分享，並規定克裏奧爾語是法語之外的官方語言，廢止禁絕伏都教的法律，10年內禁止杜瓦利埃分子競選公職，倡導教育權、公平取酬權和基本住房權。

　　Constitution：　The Mar。 29，　1987，　Constitution，　the nation's 23rd since independence，　was repudiated by Gen。 Henri Namphy in 1988。 It was restored in 1990 by then-President Ertha Pascal-Trouillot and was loosely adhered to after the September 1991 coup。 The Constitution sanctions Creole as the nation's official language in addition to French；　prohibits laws against the practice of voodoo；　bans Duvalierists from running for office for a period of 10 years；　and advocates the rights of education，　a fair wage，　and decent housing。

　　自然地理：海地位於加勒比海伊斯帕尼奧拉島西部(多米尼加共和國佔據該島東部)，包括幾個近海小島，其北部和西北部與巴哈馬隔岸毗鄰，西部與古巴和牙買加隔海相望。南臨加勒比海，北瀕大西洋。全境四分之三為山地，僅沿海與沿河有狹窄平原。全國最高峰為拉薩爾山脈的拉薩爾山，海拔2680米。主要河流有阿蒂博尼特河，該河谷地為重要農業區。北部屬熱帶雨林氣候，南部為熱帶草原氣候。全年分雨、旱兩季，5-11月為雨季，余為旱季。年平均氣溫24-26℃。年平均降水量1000毫米左右。
