South Korea and the United States have begun their annual joint military exercises. They have been denounced by the DPRK as a preparation for invading the country.

About 18-thousand US soldiers and 20-thousand South Korean troops are taking part in 11 days of drills across South Korea.

The exercises, dubbed Key Resolve and Foal Eagle, are aimed at rehearsing how to deploy US reinforcements in an emergency on the Korean Peninsula.
