A suicide car bomber has attacked a police station in Karak, northwest Pakistan. The blast killed three people and wounded more than twenty.
The attack toppled a mosque next to the police station. Both police and civilians are among the wounded. The injured were transported to a nearby hospital, where some remain in a critical condition.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the blasts. Karak is near South Waziristan, a known militant stronghold. The Pakistani army launched a major offensive against militants there in October.
Meanwhile, at least one person died and several others were wounded when gunmen opened fire on a procession in the northwestern town of Dera Ismail Khan.
