The avalanche hit a camp of the Indian Army's High Altitude Warfare School in Khelanmarg area of Gulmarg. Some 100 Indian army troopers undergoing training in the upper reaches became trapped in snow. Indian army troopers and police launched massive searches in the area. The local authorities say no tourists or civilians were trapped in the avalanche.
