Iran's chief nuclear negotiator has ended his five day stay in Japan with a visit to Hiroshima. The city was devastated by an atomic bomb at the end of World War Two.

Saeed Jalili, Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary, laid a wreath at a memorial for the victims. He said earlier this week Hiroshima should be the "last victim" of nuclear weapons.

Jalili had called for a global nuclear weapons ban earlier in Tokyo, but insisted the right for all nations, including Iran, to develop nuclear energy.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad dismissed on Tuesday a looming deadline from the US and its allies. It asks Tehran to accept a UN-drafted deal to swap enriched uranium for nuclear fuel.

Washington and its allies are warning of new, tougher sanction on Iran if the deal fails.
