Khamenei: Western politicians must stop nuclear misinformation

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has accused Western politicians of misleading the public and lying about his country's nuclear program.

On Sunday, Khamenei said these lies will eventually come to harm the West. The comments come a day after Iran's vice president said his country needs 20 industrial-scale uranium enrichment facilities.

The move would be a dramatic expansion in defiance of United Nation's demands. Tehran, argues its nuclear program is peaceful and insists it has a right to enrich uranium to generate electricity.

The United Nations has demanded Iran freeze enrichment and construction on new facilities. Iran and the West are deadlocked over a United Nations proposal for Iran to send its uranium abroad for enrichment.
