President Hu Jintao has arrived in Singapore after wrapping up his visit to Malaysia. He is in Singapore for a state visit and to attend the Economic Leaders Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
During his visit, President Hu Jintao will meet with Singaporean leaders including President S. R. Nathan and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
Chinese diplomats say President Hu Jintao is expected to exchange views with Singaporean leaders on deepening mutually beneficial and cooperative ties to expand cooperation in key sectors of the two countries. they will also discuss international and regional issues of common concern.
China and Singapore set up diplomatic ties 19 years ago, and since then bilateral cooperation has expanded steadily in various sectors.
