Pakistan army sends relief materials to refugees

As the battle rages on between Pakistani security forces and Taliban militants in South Waziristan, the army continues to send relief material to thousands of refugees.

The Pakistani Army dispatched two truckloads of relief goods on Thursday. About 140 thousand people are estimated to have fled the fighting.

Most have taken refuge in neighboring, North West Frontier Province, where the number of refugees are steadily rising. As winter approaches, officials say it is crucial to address the needs of the recently displaced, providing them with food, shelter, and health facilities.
