Visiting U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, says Israel is making "unprecedented" concessions on West Bank settlement construction. Clinton met with Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in Jerusalem following her visit to the Gulf emirate of Abu Dhabi. Palestinian officials say the resumption of talks is unlikely if Israel does not halt the settlement construction.

At a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday, Clinton said Netanyahu is putting significant limits on settlement activity.

And, Netanyahu expressed Israel's willingness to return to talks.

Benjamin Netanyahu said, "We think that the place to resolve outstanding issues and difference of opinion is around the negotiating table. I think we should sit around that negotiating table right away. We are prepared to start peace talks immediately. I think what we should do on the path to peace is to simply get on it and get with it."

Clinton also agreed with a statement by Netanyahu that, in the past, Palestinians had never demanded a settlement freeze as a pre-condition for sitting down with Israel.
