Iran has test-fired short-range missiles as its elite Revolutionary Guard begins war games aimed at boosting the country's deterrent capabilities.
The missile launches coincide with increased tension in Iran's nuclear dispute with the West. Israel immediately condemned the missile tests.
Iranian state television showed pictures of at least two missiles being fired simultaneously by the Revolutionary Guard.
The country launched short-range, surface-to-surface missiles, but no information was released on their range or other details.
The Revolutionary Guard which controls Iran's missile program, called the launches a breakthrough.
Hossein Salami, Commander of OSSEIN Salami, Commander of Revolutionary Guard Air Force, said, "For the first time, we tried out multi-rocket launchers which are capable of simultaneously launching several rockets in order to increase the firing volume onto a single target. This is the specific purpose of this maneuver."
