U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has warned Iran that it risks more international isolation and economic pressure, if it continues to defy the world community on nuclear issues.
Clinton made the remarks to an audience at the Brookings Institution on Friday. She said talks next month between Iran and concerned major powers represented an opportunity for Tehran and that there would be consequences for its choices. The United States and other powers are concerned the nuclear enrichment program is aimed at weapon production.
Hillary Clinton, U.S. Secretary of State, said, "So Iran faces a choice, the International community has made abundantly clear what is possible for all Iranians if Iran lives up to its responsibility on the nuclear issue. The benefits of economic connections to the rest of the world, cooperation on peaceful nuclear energy and partnership in education and science. But there will be accompanying costs for Iran's continued defiance, more isolation and economic pressure, less possibility of progress for the people of Iran."
