The International Atomic Energy Agency has passed a resolution criticising Israel and its atomic program for the first time in 18 years.

Overriding Western objections, the 150-nation nuclear conference voted on Friday. Of the delegations at the meeting, 49 voted for the resolution, 45 were against and 16 abstained.

The resolution expresses concern about Israeli nuclear capabilities, and links it to the threat posed by the proliferation of nuclear weapons and its affect on the security and stability of the Middle East.
