China's Ministry of Commerce has announced an anti-dumping and subsidies investigation on certain goods imported from the United States.

The probe will focus on imported American auto parts and chicken products. The ministry said the investigation is in accordance with WTO rules and China's laws. The launch of the probe comes in response to complaints from Chinese manufacturers.

They've said that these products entered the country's markets in an "unfair competitive manner," which harmed domestic industries.

The former vice chairman of the China Chamber of Commerce for Metals Minerals and Chemicals Importers and Exporters said that China's action is justified and reasonable. The United States also subsidizes its car industry and agricultural sector.

Zhou Shijian, Former Vive Chairman of CCCMC, said, "It is obvious that the US government implemented many remedy measures to help its economy during the global recession, such as subsidies to their car industry and farm products. The European Union also opposed such measures. The subsidies the US government provides its agricultural sector have already exceeded the WTO standard. So I think the Chinese government's decision is reasonable."
