DPRK to lift border restriction

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, says the inter-Korean negotiation office in Kae-song will re-open, and border restrictions will be lifted.

South Korea's "Yonhap" news agency, reports the DPRK sent a message on Thursday to South Korea, saying it will lift restrictions starting Friday. It will also allow a cross-border, rail-link to resume operation.

However, South Korean officials, say it will take a week, to implement these decisions due to technical reasons.

The current restrictions, were imposed last December by Pyongyang, in protest to Seoul's strict border policies.

Restrictions were placed on, the number of times, South Korean workers could travel to a nearby joint industrial park, in Kaesong.

The north, also cut off a rail cargo service, to transport materials to the industrial park.
