Memphis are charting their own course of history after the result moves them to a franchise-record seventh straight road win.
In the first, Ray Allen went oh-for-three. He scored a team-high six points in the first quarter against Memphis. But Allen was the only Celtic player to score more than one basket in the period.
With the Celtics slumping - Memphis scored the last eight points of the quarter to take a 30-12 lead.
The two dozen total marked a season low in points for Boston in the opening quarter.
