Greece's two largest unions have begun their second nationwide strike in a week. It started at midnight on Wednesday, shutting down all public services and halting public transport for 24 hours.
Schools, customs and tax offices were also closed.
The Athens' International Airport was empty, except for a few stranded travellers.
US Traveller, said, "The strike's already began so I have to wait for tomorrow, take a bus for eight hours and then I'll get home to my husband and kids and it's just life, life in Greece."
