The International Atomic Energy Agency has confirmed it's received an intelligence report saying Iran was planning to clandestinely import purified uranium ore from Kazakhstan. But the authenticity of the report has yet to be confirmed.
Local media say the report shows Iran intended to import 1,350 tons of purified uranium ore from Kazakhstan. The deal could be done within the next few weeks, for about 453 million US dollars.

Iran and Kazakhstan denied the reports on Wednesday. A statement by Iran's representative at the United Nations called them "fabrications of news" as "part of the psychological warfare."
Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry spokesman said his country abides completely by IAEA standards and controls.
The UN nuclear watchdog is now examining the report to find out details of the negotiations.
Such imports are clear violations of UN Security Council sanctions imposed on Iran in 2006 over its nuclear program.
