A bomb attack in Pakistan has killed at least 30 people. It triggered violence, with shots fired into the air and outraged Shiites hurling stones at security forces and burning vehicles.
Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani strongly condemned the blast and ordered an immediate inquiry.
Shi'ite Muslims were observing a religious procession, when Monday's attack was carried out.
An official of the bomb disposal squad said some 16 kilograms of high explosive had been used.
Ali Ahman, Eyewitness, said, "Someone came into the procession and there was a big blast, then a second one. It was a suicide blast and lots of people were injured, and taken to hospital."
