The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, says bi-lateral talks with the US this week in Pyongyang, have led to a narrowing of differences between the two countries.

A spokesman for the DPRK's foreign ministry, confirmed that discussions held with US special envoy, Stephen Bosworth, were frank and business-like.

The talks resulted in common understanding with the US, on the need to resume the six-party talks and the importance of implementing the 2005 joint statement.
