Iran's top nuclear negotiator says the country is looking for full guarantees from the West over fuel supplies to a Tehran nuclear reactor. Saeed Jalili was responding to a UN plan to curb Iran's enriched uranium stockpile.
Jalili warned that if such guarantees are not provided to Iran, the country would consider other options and will act accordingly. He also gave his take on the current situation of talks.
Jalili said, "Apparently, they are engaged in discussions among themselves and are not ready for talks. Whenever they are ready to carry on with the talks based on Iran's package of proposals we will welcome it."
Under the UN proposal, Iran would export its uranium for enrichment in Russia and France where it would be converted into fuel rods, which would be returned to Iran about a year later.
