18 people have been killed, after a bus carrying a wedding party hit a land-mine in Pakistan's Mohmand tribal area on Friday.

Six others were injured. The anti-tank mine was planted by militants to target army convoys taking part in a campaign against the Taliban in the region. Also on Friday, a car bomb exploded in the parking lot of a recreational facility in Peshawar, injuring 15 people. The facility included a restaurant, a swimming pool and a health club.

The military offensive has raised fears that insurgents will step up a suicide bombing campaign on urban targets. More than 150 people have been killed in a series of attacks over the past few weeks.
