41 people have been killed in a suicide car bomb targeting Pakistani troops. The grisly militant attack was the fourth in just over a week, as the Taliban pledged to mobilize fighters across the country.

Monday's strike hit a market in the northwest Shangla district. Six security officers were among the dead, and 45 civilians were wounded. There's been no immediate claim of responsibility.

In a statement on the state-run news agency, President Asif Ali Zardari said the attacks would not undermine the government's resolve to eliminate insurgent groups.
