Environmental protection is also a big part of CHIC 2010. On display are various high-tech fabrics echoing the theme of going green.

A special cloth is introduced at the expo. It helps block ultraviolet light while keeping the wearer warm. The fabric is made from flax fibers with a linen-like luster. According to designers, the textile is expected to be in vogue in the near future.

The expo features the latest works by designers from around the world for their 2010 autumn/winter collections. It is not hard to see that colors like beige and green, which reflect nature, are the favorites of fashionistas.

The expo is also keen on the use of recyclable materials. And a number of showbiz stars share their views with visitors about how to stay in fashion while reducing carbon emissions.

Li Bingbing, actress, said, "We need to buy fewer clothes. I like those with multi-functions."

Kelly Chen, HK artist, said, "You can always try accessories. I believe that silver rings matched with a hat and a pair of sun glasses will make you look just fine."

With various clothing firms competing for the lion's share in the market, it seems those focusing more on the environmental protection instead of merely making a big sale regardless of the carbon output probably outdo their competitors.
