China welcomes US-Russia treaty

China's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Qin Gan is welcoming the new treaty reached between the US and Russia on nuclear disarmament.

The two nations finalized a new nuclear disarmament deal last Friday to replace the expired Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty. They both agree to reduce their deployed nuclear warheads by 30 percent to 1,550. Qin says China always advocated a comprehensive ban on, and complete destruction of, nuclear weapons.
