European foreign ministers also met in Brussels to discuss Iran's nuclear issue. Successful dialogue with Iran, could result in the EU helping Tehran develop civilian nuclear power.

Swedish Foreign Minister, Carl Bildt, whose country currently holds the EU's presidency, says Iran has the right to develop nuclear power. Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Alexander Stubb, says starting a dialogue with Iran was the first step. He adds the EU welcomes efforts from Iran. But warned if discussions do not have a positive outcome, the EU would seek UN sanctions against Iran.

Iran agreed to talk with the six world powers next month over the nuclear issue, the first time in more than a year.
