In London, more than 350 Chinese and British scholars, academicians and students, as well as foreign ambassadors in Britain, gathered on Friday to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the victory of China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. Participants were also honoring international efforts to defeat fascism in World War Two.
The provisional head of the Chinese Embassy in Britain, Li Ruiyu, said China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Agression was an important part of the world's anti-fascist campaign. He also noted that the Chinese people made great sacrifices in helping to win the war. He stressed that history must be reviewed and fairly judged to ensure that a recurrence of the tragedy never occurs. Meanwhile, a photo exhibition was held, displaying over 50 photos showing evidence of atrocities committed by Japanese soldiers on Chinese people.
