KMT delegation back in Taipei

Lien Chan and his 60-member delegation have arrived back in Taipei. The Kuomintang chairman's trip to the mainland has opened many economic opportunities for people in Taiwan, and is expected to help promote further dialogue and exchange across the Straits.
Upon arrival at Taipei Taoyuan Airport, the Kuomintang chairman said he will soon report the details of his trip to the public.
It had been a busy 8 days on the mainland for Lien Chan. Seeing him off at Shanghai's Pudong International Airport were Director of CPC Central Committee's Taiwan Work Office, Chen Yunlin, and local leading CPC officials.
Lien Chan expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the warm welcome and reception given to him and his delegation.
Lien Chan said: "In every place I visited, citizens there spontaneously organized and demonstrated to us their friendship and hospitality. For us, me, my wife, and every member of my delegation, it's the most valuable and memorable experience."
Lien spoke warmly of the great changes that have taken place in the Chinese mainland, the combination of tradition with innovation and creativity. And he expressed a desire to visit the mainland again.
Lien said: "It's hard to describe with words how we feel now. All I can say is thank you, thank you again. We wish you good health and all the best."
As a token of peace, solidarity and fraternity, the mainland compatriots offered the Taiwan compatriots a pair of giant pandas.
And, of more immediate importance, mainland tourists will soon be allowed to visit the island, and the mainland will open its market further to one of Taiwan's main exports, fruit. Six more fruits will be added to the list, bringing the total to 18. And tariffs will be scrapped on 10.
In more far-reaching results, the visit has paved way for further dialogue and exchanges across the Straits. And it has expressed Taiwan compatriots' wish for peace, stability and development across the straits, and their wish to build a strong Chinese nation.
