Lien Chan meets Taiwan businesspeople in Shanghai

In Shanghai, the world famous commercial hub, the visiting Kuomintang Chairman Lien Chan has attended a luncheon prepared by Taiwan business people in the Chinese mainland.

Taiwan businesspeople in Shanghai have been preparing for the luncheon ten days ago, once they knew Lien's visit. They are eager to communicate with the Kuomintang leader, and to express their suggestion about cross-straits trade and economic cooperation. The Taiwan businesspeople concern most about three direct links, setting up bank branches here, medical treatment, and education for their children. They are hoping, Lien's visit can help the building of a peaceful station, and more robust economic ties of both sides.
