1 child killed, 6 injured in NW Pakistan blast

ISLAMABAD, Jan. 13 (Xinhua) -- At least one child was killed and six others were injured Wednesday in an explosion in northwest Pakistan, local media reported.

According to preliminary reports, there was a suicide vest lying in the playground in Tank city, North West Frontier Province, where the children were playing. A kid touched it causing the huge explosion.

The injured children were rushed to Headquarter Hospital in the city.

Security forces arrived on spot and put a security cordon around the blast and emergency has been declared at local hospitals.
