WASHINGTON, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- At least 5 people were killed and seven others injured when a tanker truck hit a special needs bus carrying students in the U.S. state of Ohio on Thursday afternoon, said local authorities.
According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, the tanker truck jackknifed and swerved into the traffic from the opposite direction on Interstate 70 in Harmony Township, and then collided with a school bus with children of special needs on it.
At least five in the school vehicle were killed, including the driver, and seven others in the bus were injured, CNN reported, citing local officials.
However, some other local media reports said that four people died in the accident.
The cause of the accident is not immediately known, but it has been snowing most of the day in the area of the accident.
