PESHAWAR, PAKISTAN, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- At least three persons including a policeman were killed and seven others injured in a bomb blast in northwest Pakistan's city of Peshawar on Monday, police sources said.
Capital City Police Officer Liaquat Ali said that the suicide bomber traveling in a auto-rickshaw blew himself up when a policeman signaled him to stop near a police checkpoint on Ring Road of Peshawar, the capital city of North West Frontier Province.
Sources said that the suspect blew his suicide waist up when policemen attempted to check him, killing the rickshaw driver, a passerby and a policeman constable identified as Wahidullah.
Police sources said that police and relief workers have been dispatched to the blast site. Meantime, the injured including a rickshaw driver have been rushed to hospital for treatment.
Police have cordoned off the area after the blast.
