As Iran seeks "important changes" to a UN-drafted plan to ship enriched uranium out of the country for processing, the European Union's foreign policy chief, says he sees no need for fundamental changes to the deal. Meanwhile, the France's foreign minister, says he believes Iran wants to have the UN proposal "thoroughly reworked," and feels that this is "not a good sign."

Javier Solana, EU Foreign Policy Chief, said, "The agreement was reached. It was signed by the Director General Agency, Mohammed Baradei, and the three countries that were involved, the States, France, and Russian Federation. And everybody agreed. And it was left for ratification. Everybody ratified with the exception of Iran, and now they say in 48 hours there will be an answer. Let's see. Let's see what is the answer."

Bernard Kouchner, French Foreign Minister, said, "It's up to the Iranians to say if this is negative or not. But it's definitely not a good sign."
