NEW DELHI, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- India's premier investigation agency, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), will soon approach the Interpol to seek a red corner notice against the founder of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) Hafiz Muhammad Saeed for masterminding the Mumbai terror attacks, reported the Press Trust of India on Sunday.
The investigating agency has prepared all the papers from Mumbai Police, including the non-bailable warrants issued by a special trial court against Saeed, which will serve as basis for seeking red corner notice, said the report.
Non-bailable warrants were issued by a Mumbai special court on June 23 against Saeed and 22 others, including LeT operations commander Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi and suspected military official Col. R. Saadat Ullah, said the report.
Special court judge M. L. Tahaliyani issued the warrants asking the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the CBI Director to execute them through the Interpol.
