DPRK top leader inspects newly-built shop

PYONGYANG, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Kim Jong Il, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) inspected a newly-built fruit and meat shop, the official news agency KCNA reported on Monday.

The report did not give the date of the inspection and the location of the Pothonggang Shop Kim visited.

Kim said more such service centers as the Pothonggang Shop, which sells apples and other fruits and processed meat, should be built in different parts of the country.

He also underlined the need for the shop to take measures for the keeping and maintenance of commodities and boost the output at fruit and meat production bases and ensure their smooth supply, the report said.
